7 Marines Killed

On Tuesday there was an explosion at Hawthorne Army Depot in western Nevada that killed seven marines. They don't know the actual cause of it yet. They sent four medical helicopters to transport injured people. There was a traffic accident that was related to the blast they say but they don't know how it affected it yet. Hawthorne is used for storing weapons and ammunition and they do high training  in the desert.

"Rape" on shirts

There were shirts that said " Keep Calm and Rape On" on Amazon. on Saturday people on twitter were very angry about this and were tweeting angry things. The company that makes them Solid Gold Bomb was informed about all this anger and how that slogan was  promoting rape and violence. They removed and they also removed another one that said "Keep Calm and Hit Her".They say all their slogans are made by computers they don't necessarily create them. They also apologized for this. People on Twitter were saying things like the statistics on how many people get raped and when will companies take responsibly for what  they make and promote to the world that is bad influentially. The shirts never got printed they get printed as they are order. They should look over what the computer is making more carefully so things like this don't happen.

execution

A man by the name of Warren Lee Hill is going to be executed today(Tuesday). In 1990 he killed Joseph Handspike. He killed him while they were both in prison in Georgia. Warren is mentally disabled and the court denied his request for clemency. His execution isn't until 7 p.m. in Jackson, Georgia. This is really sad I don't care if he did something bad he is mentally disabled and he is being executed. There was a thing in 2002 that was passed/made that was mentally disabled people should be spared form execution. But they did go by that because in Georgia  they have to "prove mental impairment". "Georgia is the only sate with reasonable-doubt standard".

""The U.S. Supreme Court says we don't put mentally retarded people to death, but we'll let the states determine who's retarded and who's not," CNN legal analyst Paul Callan said Monday."

It seems as if a lot of people are against this and his execution. Handspike's family even is saying to call off the execution. They are asking that the man that killed their loved one not to be killed. They have now involved the U.S. Supreme Court because some people want it and some don't they can't decide.

plane crash

A plane crashed in the Ukraine. They say 4 people died. They had an emergency crash landing. they missed the run way and turned over. it was an AN-42, I think that's a small plane. There where 42 people on board. Also all the people where able to get off the plane before it started on fire. All  the people on the plane were soccer fans going to the UEFA champion game.

King Richard III found

King Richard the III was found on Monday. They were digging up a parking lot and they found a skeleton. they did DNA tests on it and it says it King Richard the III. This was in Leicester, England. They were doing an archaeological dig when they found these bones. they say his "remains will be reburied in Leicester Cathedral .  This is close to the site where he was buried when he died many years ago. They say they were lucky to find his bones in such good condition. He died 5 centuries ago and  with building built almost on top of his bones they are amazed they were still all there except his feet they were missing. This is interesting how they can identify hows bones they were just from DNA and the DNA form a few family members.

more than 150 baby bones found under house

Last week a guy found more than 150 bones under his house. He was re-doing his floor boards and he found little baby bones. The bones were looked at and they are said to be human baby bones. This house is the oldest in its county it was build in 1840. It is from during the Civil War. This house is famous because of the guy who lived there(James something).  They say the babies probably died from scarlet fever when they were little and put their when they died.

Bad fire in Australia

There is a '"catastrophic'" fire in the southeastern part of Australia. Temperatures may rise to 109 degrees Fahrenheit near Sydney. There are high winds pushing the fire around (43 mph). The wind also brings the temperature down in some places so its not so hot there. 90% of the area is in a sever risk form this fire they could loose their homes or loose lives loved one form this. Because if this huge fire some people think the risk is as bad as 'black Saturday' that happened in 2009. Black Saturday killed 173 people and injured 500. Also destroying lots of homes.  There are 130 fires going on Tuesday and there were still a bunch  uncontrolled. They say no homes have been destroyed as of Tuesday. They have hot dry conditions witch doesn't help the fire can spread easily in these conditions. I would never want to live in a area where they have wildfires.
